Native American Student Experiences of the Academic Library

Native Americans are underrepresented in higher education; and, while considerable research examines student persistence, the role of academic libraries their experiences has received little attention. This study proposes to investigate American undergraduate students’ library experiences, needs, and perceptions. Qualitative interviews explored perspectives on services, space, culture. Findings suggest that core services important students, visible representation contributes a sense belonging, identity varied significance for use. implications librarians seeking improve students.
